Perineal Wash

Combining the actions vulnerary, demulcent, and astringent, this traditonal Sitz-bath has been used post delivery to help heal and soothe the area for optimal recovery.

Soak in soothing sitzbath 1-3 times a day after delivery for up to 2 weeks. Place a handful (approx. 1/4-1/2 cup) into a quart of boiling water. Simmer for 5-10 minutes. Strain out herbs and add remaining liquid to warm water in Sitztub. You can also use a large bowl or small tub instead. Do not over-dilute in a full bathtub. For external use only.
