Perineal Wash

Comforting and restorative—this traditional sitz-bath blend brings together vulnerary, demulcent, and astringent herbs to soothe tender tissues and support optimal recovery after birth.

Soak in a soothing sitz-bath 1–3 times daily for up to 2 weeks post-delivery. Place a handful (approx. 1/4–1/2 cup) into a quart of boiling water. Simmer 5–10 minutes, strain out the herbs, and add the liquid to warm water in your sitz tub (a large bowl or small basin works too). Do not over-dilute in a full bathtub. For external use only.

Ingredients:

• Calendula officinalis (calendula)
  

Gentle vulnerary that supports calm, comfortable skin and healthy tissue repair.

• Symphytum officinale (comfrey)
  

Rich in allantoin—traditionally used to moisturize, protect, and encourage surface healing.

• Achillea millefolium (yarrow)
  

Astringent, toning herb with a long history of use for tender, irritated areas.

• Camellia sinensis (black tea, Earl Grey)

Tannin-rich astringent traditonally used to prevent infection and promote body's natural healing abilities. 

Precautions:
For external use only. Discontinue if irritation occurs. Those with known allergies to the Asteraceae family should use calendula and yarrow cautiously. Comfrey should only be used externally and for limited durations; avoid use on deep puncture wounds.
